Viscom Raises 2026 Order Intake Forecast to €110 Million After Battery Inspection Order

Key Facts

1Viscom raised its 2026 incoming order forecast to €100–110 million, from €90–100 million.
2The new battery cell inspection order is expected to contribute mainly to revenue in 2027.
3The company kept its 2026 revenue forecast at €80–90 million and its earnings before interest and taxes margin at 2–5%.
4First-half 2026 orders rose 30.2% to €55.715 million.

Viscom raised its forecast for incoming orders in fiscal 2026 to a range of €100 million to €110 million, from its previous forecast of €90 million to €100 million, according to an ad hoc announcement published via EQS News. The company said it had received a major new order for in-line computed tomography inspection systems for battery cell inspection applications. It attributed the revised forecast to continued positive market conditions and higher demand for inspection systems, as well as the new order. The contract is expected to contribute mainly to revenue in fiscal 2027. The company did not disclose the order’s value or the customer’s identity, so the announcement does not specify its financial size.

The higher order intake forecast does not mean a corresponding increase in revenue targets for the current year; Viscom kept its 2026 revenue forecast at €80 million to €90 million and its earnings before interest and taxes margin at 2% to 5%. This implies an expected range for earnings before interest and taxes of €1.6 million to €4.5 million, according to the announcement. The timing of revenue recognition for the new contract differs from the year in which the order is included in the forecast: the order supports 2026 order intake, while most of its impact is expected to appear in revenue during 2027. The company is therefore keeping its annual revenue and profitability targets unchanged despite raising its order intake forecast. The order backlog and project execution schedules remain separate indicators when assessing the update.

The announcement follows 30.2% growth in orders in the first half of 2026, to €55.715 million from €42.776 million in the same period a year earlier, according to the company’s half-year results. The order backlog also rose to €37.963 million on June 30, 2026, up 62.2% from €23.405 million on the same date in 2025. Viscom said the higher order backlog provided a basis for the second half of the year, while it reaffirmed its annual forecast at the time. The new order adds to the improvement in order intake shown in the first-half figures. The year-on-year comparison provides context for the latest revision without changing the revenue and earnings targets the company kept unchanged.

At the quarterly revenue level, Viscom reported €22.588 million in the second quarter of 2026, up 57.3% from €14.360 million in the first quarter and 15.8% from €19.501 million in the second quarter of 2025. The company said demand conditions varied by region: investment hesitation persisted in Europe, while the trend was more buoyant in North America and Asia. This places the improvement in orders within an uneven regional performance, according to the company. The announcement raising the order intake forecast did not link these quarterly figures to a change in the current-year revenue forecast, which remained at its previous range. The new contract remains tied mainly to revenue in the following year.

The company identified investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure, semiconductors and battery cell manufacturing, along with increased automation of industrial processes, as structural growth drivers that offer medium- and long-term prospects. Viscom said, "Investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure, semiconductors and battery cell manufacturing, as well as the increasing automation of industrial production processes, offer attractive medium- and long-term growth prospects." The new battery cell inspection order falls within the area identified by the company, but most of its revenue is expected in 2027. Viscom is scheduled to publish its interim report for the first nine months of 2026 on November 12, 2026, according to its financial calendar. The next report is the next scheduled date for an update on performance.
