Impact Coatings said on October 21 that net sales reached SEK 36.5 million in the third quarter of 2026, compared with SEK 15.2 million in the same period a year earlier. Total revenue was SEK 38.0 million, versus SEK 16.1 million a year earlier, according to the company’s interim report. The company posted an operating profit of SEK 3.8 million, after an operating loss of SEK 11.8 million in the third quarter of 2025. Its result after financial items also swung to a profit of SEK 3.6 million, from a loss of SEK 12.1 million a year earlier. The results mark a return to quarterly operating profitability, while operating performance for the first nine months of the year remained in loss territory.

The company said growth in net sales came from system sales and coating services. During the quarter, it delivered an INLINECOATER IC500 system to HJWAVE in South Korea and recognized the revenue in line with its stated plan. A large order for coating services, which the company highlighted in the second quarter, contributed SEK 3.6 million to third-quarter net sales. The CEO attributed the positive net profit to the combination of cost cuts and higher sales volumes. However, the CEO noted that earnings are affected by the timing of system deliveries and variation in sales between quarters.

From January to September, the company recorded net sales of SEK 58.9 million, compared with SEK 31.5 million in the corresponding period of 2025. However, it posted an operating loss of SEK 20.3 million for the nine months, after a loss of SEK 41.9 million a year earlier. In the second quarter alone, the operating loss was SEK 13.0 million, versus SEK 15.8 million a year earlier. This highlights the difference between the latest quarterly result and performance accumulated since the start of the year, as the third-quarter return to profit did not erase operating losses recorded in previous quarters. The coating systems order book stood at SEK 29.4 million at the end of the second quarter, compared with zero a year earlier.

At the end of the third quarter, the coating systems order book stood at SEK 13.6 million, compared with zero in the corresponding period of 2025. The coating services order book was SEK 1.8 million, versus SEK 10.5 million a year earlier. The company said its coating services center in Shanghai resumed full production on a single-shift basis in September. It added that the center can move to two shifts as demand increases. The company linked increased activity in China to the launch of a four-year hydrogen pilot program, after Chinese authorities announced five regional hydrogen clusters in August under the program presented in March.

Cash flow improved to negative SEK 1.2 million in the quarter, compared with negative SEK 16.9 million a year earlier. Cash at the end of the period totaled SEK 14.1 million, versus SEK 12.9 million at the end of the corresponding period. In an earlier development related to coating services in China, the company said orders from one new customer exceeded SEK 3 million during the second quarter, and the cumulative value of its orders topped SEK 5 million after the quarter ended. The coating systems order book had risen to SEK 29.4 million in the second quarter before standing at SEK 13.6 million at the end of the third quarter. In the market, Impact Coatings shares closed at SEK 3.40 on October 21, up 9.68%, with 293.45 thousand shares traded.

After the end of the quarter, Impact Coatings was selected as the winning bidder in a Romanian tender to supply an INLINECOATER IC2000 system to a research institute working on hydrogen and energy technologies. The expected contract value is about EUR 1.5 million, with delivery planned for 2027. The company said the legal appeal period had ended and that the next step is signing the final agreement. Signing the agreement remains a step to be completed before the contract is finalized, according to the company’s disclosure. The company set February 12, 2027, as the publication date for its 2026 year-end report.
