Halliburton provides oil and gas field services and technologies across more than 70 countries, with its revenue model concentrated in two divisions: Completion and Production, and Drilling and Evaluation. Its business drivers include stimulation and hydraulic fracturing services, well construction, intervention, and artificial lift, alongside drilling technologies, software, and automation such as Zeus IQ, Logix, and Octave; the company aims to increase returns on equipment through pricing and by moving it to higher-margin markets and contracts.
In Q2 of fiscal year 2026, revenue reached $5.7 billion, up 6% sequentially, and net income reported in the earnings release was $534 million. Halliburton recorded diluted earnings per share of $0.64 and adjusted earnings per share of $0.55, while adjusted operating income reached $683 million and the adjusted operating margin was 12%. The company also generated $824 million in operating cash flow and $668 million in free cash flow, and repurchased approximately $200 million of shares during the quarter.
The Completion and Production division accounted for the largest share of sales, with revenue of $3.2 billion, up 6% sequentially, operating income of $474 million, and a margin of 15%. The Drilling and Evaluation division generated revenue of $2.5 billion, up 5% sequentially, but its operating income declined 4% to $338 million, with a margin of 13%. Geographically, international revenue reached $3.4 billion, up 6% year over year, compared with $2.3 billion in North America with no year-over-year growth, making international markets the clearest source of growth in the quarter.
The average analyst price target is $42.78, within a wide range of $37 to $53, compared with a 52-week share-price range of $21.40 to $43.59; accordingly, the average target sits slightly below the top of the 52-week range, while the highest target exceeds that peak. The analyst consensus is “Buy,” but the approximately $16 spread in targets reflects meaningful differences in estimates of the impact of international contracts and margin recovery versus Middle East disruption and the expected sequential decline in revenue for both divisions in Q3 of fiscal year 2026.

Halliburton's revenue increased 6% sequentially to $5.7 billion, and adjusted operating income reached $683 million with a margin of 12%. The Completion and Production division benefited from increased stimulation activity in the Western Hemisphere and improved well intervention services in Asia, while the Drilling and Evaluation division benefited from higher drilling services and wireline activity in North America and Europe and Africa. Geographically, Europe and Africa revenue increased 19% sequentially to $1 billion, while North American revenue rose 7% to $2.3 billion.
Halliburton won an integrated field management contract in Iraq covering field development planning, production optimization, well construction, digital technologies, and certain engineering, procurement, and construction work. In Algeria, it secured the first multi-well unconventional contract for Sonatrach and had already drilled the country's longest horizontal section by Q2 of fiscal year 2026. The multi-year, multibillion-dollar YPF work in Argentina and the long-term Jafurah program also support the international expansion of the Zeus fleet, and management believes the growth drivers could exceed the target of adding $2.5 billion to $3 billion in annual revenue by fiscal year 2028.

Zeus IQ provides near-well and cross-well measurements and combines data inputs to give customers per-well treatment control and control over simul-frac operations. Halliburton integrated Sikal technology with the Logix platform to provide a closed-loop drilling solution designed to improve well placement and reservoir contact and accelerate drilling. The solution's impact was demonstrated in consecutive record-setting wells for Aker BP in Norway during Q2 of fiscal year 2026, and management also said that automation and the Zeus IQ and Logix products were an important part of the contracts won by the company.
The company expects Completion and Production division revenue to be flat or down as much as 2% sequentially, with its margin improving by between 125 and 175 basis points. It expects Drilling and Evaluation division revenue to decline between 3% and 5%, while its margin improves by between 25 and 75 basis points due to a mix that includes higher-margin software sales. It also expects corporate expenses of approximately $80 million, SAP S4 costs of about $45 million, and an effective tax rate of approximately 19%.
International revenue reached $3.4 billion in Q2 of fiscal year 2026, up 6% year over year, and represented approximately three-fifths of the company's $5.7 billion in revenue. North American revenue reached $2.3 billion, flat year over year but up 7% sequentially due to stimulation and well construction activity in the U.S. land market and fluids activity in the Gulf of Mexico. Within the international business, Europe and Africa generated $1 billion, the Middle East and Asia generated $1.3 billion, and Latin America generated $1.1 billion.
Disruptions in the Middle East caused a 2% sequential decline in regional revenue to $1.3 billion during Q2 of fiscal year 2026, and offshore activity remained below pre-conflict levels. Management also expects sequential revenue declines in both divisions during Q3 of fiscal year 2026, while mobilization, maintenance, and contract startup costs continue to pressure the pace of margin expansion. In addition, there were net insider sales of $7.7 million during the three months ended August 19, 2026, which should be treated as a weak signal because these sales may have been prearranged.
