SECZ Tokenized Trading Predated Nov. 7 News as Stock Offering Expanded to 25
Key Facts
A new Nov. 7 announcement about plans to trade Securitize shares on its platform could not be verified; the company told the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in a filing that trading in its tokenized SECZ shares on the Solana network was already enabled. The company said trading takes place through partners providing on-chain liquidity, and access requires meeting the registration requirements of its registered broker-dealer. The development came as Securitize was expanding its offering of tokenized U.S. stocks, having announced on Nov. 2 the addition of 13 stocks, bringing the total to 25. The latest development documented in the available materials is therefore the expanded offering, while tokenized SECZ trading began in July. The stock closed at $6.96 on Nov. 6, according to EL7 data.
Securitize launched its Securitize Stocks product on Oct. 8 for eligible investors in the United States, the European Union and other permitted jurisdictions, with the rollout beginning on Solana through its registered broker-dealer platform. The company said each token is backed 1:1 by an underlying share and represents a financial entitlement under Article 8 of the U.S. Uniform Commercial Code. It added that the applicable rights and economic benefits depend on the share class. The company described its aim as bringing stocks on-chain while preserving ownership, investor protections and the U.S. market structure. Chief Executive Carlos Domingo said: "The opportunity is to bring stocks on-chain without giving up the ownership, investor protections and market structure that make U.S. capital markets work."
Tokenized SECZ shares were available before the broader product launch: Securitize listed its shares on the New York Stock Exchange on July 2, 2026, and its fact sheet said about $295 million of the company's common stock was tokenized that same day. Its SEC filing also said trading on Solana had been enabled through liquidity partners. The company said in the filing that tokenized SECZ does not represent a separate share class. Securitize's merger with Cantor Equity Partners II was completed on July 1, and the stock began trading on the NYSE under the ticker SECZ the following day. The company said the merger provided it with about $375 million in gross proceeds, after redemptions and before transaction and closing costs.
Securitize said tokenized stock transactions are settled in USDC and that Jump Trading supports the liquidity infrastructure. At launch, trading was available outside traditional market hours, with plans to expand to 24/7 trading. The company said its shares are also expected to trade on a 24/7 digital platform being developed by the NYSE, subject to the platform's launch and meeting regulatory and operational requirements. It added that the shares backing the tokens are not lent out. The company estimated the value of tokenized assets on its platform at about $5 billion as of Sept. 30, 2026.
