Trent reported a 23% rise in revenue from operations to 5,788 crore rupees in the second quarter of fiscal 2027, compared with 4,724 crore rupees in the year-earlier period. Reuters reported that consolidated net profit reached 464 crore rupees, compared with 377 crore rupees a year earlier. The results came after the market closed on October 29, according to Moneycontrol. Reuters said strong fashion and lifestyle sales and continued store expansion supported the increase in profit. During the quarter, the company opened its 1,000th Zudio store, according to Informist Media.

Operating EBITDA rose 37% to 785 crore rupees, and its margin widened to 11.6% from 10.5% in the year-earlier quarter, according to Moneycontrol. The performance points to faster growth in operating profitability than in revenue during the period. The published results, meanwhile, showed different figures for profit and revenue, with consolidated net profit rising year on year to 464 crore rupees from 377 crore rupees. Reuters attributed the profit performance to strong fashion and lifestyle sales and continued expansion of the store network. Chairman Noel Tata said the company's brands saw "strong traction" during the quarter.

Trent opened 10 Westside stores and 19 Zudio stores during the quarter, while consolidating two Zudio stores, according to Moneycontrol, citing the company. As of September 30, the group's total portfolio stood at 1,342 stores across Westside, Zudio and other lifestyle brands, according to Informist Media. The milestone forms part of an expansion drive that saw new stores added and others consolidated during the same period. On a net basis, Trent added 10 Westside stores and 17 Zudio stores during the quarter, according to Informist Media.

Emerging categories, including beauty and personal care, lingerie and footwear, contributed more than 21% of quarterly revenue, according to Moneycontrol. Noel Tata said the company saw "more resilient consumer sentiment despite a relatively inflationary backdrop." These categories show the broadening of revenue sources within the company's portfolio alongside fashion and lifestyle, though the disclosure did not break out each category's contribution. In the first half of fiscal 2027, Westside's online revenue grew 20%. E-commerce sales also contributed more than 6% of the brand's revenue during the period, according to Moneycontrol.

Reuters placed Trent's results in the context of signs of resilient demand at other Indian consumer companies. Marico forecast double-digit revenue growth, while Godrej Consumer Products expected growth in the teens for the quarter ended in September. Reuters said Trent's results came amid signs from sector companies of resilient demand. Trent shares closed down 1.8% at 2,861.7 rupees on October 29, according to Moneycontrol. The company announced its results after the market closed that day, so the closing share move preceded the results announcement.
