Mirae Asset Securities (HK) announced the completion of an issuance of tokenized financing notes to qualified institutional investors on the public Solana network, a move the company said demonstrates its ability to manage and operate digital-asset issuance in-house. The notes are denominated in U.S. dollars, carry a floating rate and have a 6-month term, and were issued in Hong Kong. The company said the offering was a private placement to qualified professional investors. The notes were not offered to the Hong Kong public and were not approved or registered with the city's Securities and Futures Commission. The issuance comes amid wider use of digital infrastructure in debt markets, while access to the notes remains limited to the eligible investor class specified in the offering.

Mirae appointed Marketnode as the authorized distributor; it is a regulated digital-market infrastructure operator in Singapore. The company said the issuance highlights its in-house note-tokenization capabilities and operational readiness to manage the digital-asset lifecycle. This places Mirae's role in issuing and managing the notes within the infrastructure it announced, while Marketnode handled authorized distribution. The transaction differs from the January issuance, in which Mirae's Hong Kong unit used HSBC's Orion platform. The unit then raised about 100 billion South Korean won through notes that included 325 million Hong Kong dollars and 30 million U.S. dollars. The comparison provides context for the evolution of the issuance method, from reliance on an external platform in January to the company's emphasis on its in-house capabilities in the current announcement.

The transaction is part of broader activity in Hong Kong to issue digital debt instruments. On 29 September, the city government announced the pricing of about 20 billion Hong Kong dollars in digital green bonds, describing them as the largest transaction of their kind globally. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said subscription ratios across the four currencies ranged from 1.3 to 11.3 times. Financial Secretary Paul Chan said the government intends to continue issuing tokenized bonds regularly and expand the use of the underlying technologies. This reflects government and corporate issuances along the same expansion path, with differences in issuers, instruments and access terms. Mirae's current notes, meanwhile, are directed at qualified investors through a private placement and do not constitute a public offering in Hong Kong.

At the digital-infrastructure level, the Solana Foundation said in September that the value of institutional real-world assets on the network had exceeded 4 billion dollars. On 16 September, the foundation also announced Project Harmonia to connect institutional fund-distribution network Allfunds with Solana, targeting the launch of the first group in the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. On 6 October, the foundation announced an open-source delivery-versus-payment settlement program designed for financial institutions on the network. These initiatives come amid the introduction of institutional financial instruments to public infrastructure, alongside Mirae's issuance of short-term financing notes. However, Korean press coverage reported the use of Solana and Ethereum together, while Mirae's statement identified Solana; accordingly, Solana cannot be described as the only network used based on these reports taken together.
