Sobi revenue rises 29% to SEK 7,842 million in second quarter
Key Facts
Sobi reported revenue of SEK 7,842 million in the second quarter of 2026, up 29% at constant exchange rates and 27% in reported terms, according to its financial results. Revenue exceeded the SEK 6,175 million recorded in the second quarter of 2025. Sales growth was linked to expansion in the hematology and immunology segments, alongside higher revenue from the strategic portfolio. EBITA margin also rose to 36% from 30% a year earlier, while EBIT was about SEK 1,627 million. The third-quarter report was scheduled for publication on October 27, making the company's full-year guidance the next focus for investors.
The hematology segment recorded revenue of SEK 5,726 million, up 27% at constant exchange rates in the second quarter. Altuvoct sales were about SEK 1,554 million, while Doptelet sales were SEK 1,628 million. The company said both products contributed to segment growth, making hematology the largest revenue source among the segments included in the results. Their performance reflects the expansion of therapy sales within the hematology portfolio during the period. The segment's revenue alone exceeded that of immunology by more than three times.
In immunology, revenue rose 37% at constant exchange rates to SEK 1,711 million. Gamifant sales were about SEK 794 million, while Kineret sales reached SEK 861 million. Sobi identified both products as sources of segment growth during the quarter. Total revenue grew 27% in reported terms, compared with 29% at constant exchange rates. The difference between the two rates means currency movements reduced the growth rate when measured in reported terms compared with the constant-currency measure.
Revenue from the strategic portfolio reached SEK 5,095 million, up 53% at constant exchange rates from SEK 3,384 million in the second quarter of 2025. The expansion came alongside growth in the hematology and immunology segments cited by the company in its results. Operating profit, or EBITA, was about SEK 2,843 million, compared with SEK 1,863 million a year earlier. EBITA margin rose to 36% from 30%, while EBIT was SEK 1,627 million. Revenue growth and an improved operating margin therefore coincided during the period.
Sobi raised its 2026 revenue growth forecast to a range of 15%-19% at constant exchange rates, compared with a previous estimate of 10%-13%. It also widened its adjusted EBITA margin forecast to 35%-39% of revenue, from previous guidance of about 35%. The revisions follow first-quarter revenue of SEK 7,184 million, up 24% at constant exchange rates. In a preliminary note issued on June 2, the company estimated that currency movements would have a negative impact of 1%-3% on second-quarter revenue compared with the constant-currency measure. The gap between the two second-quarter revenue growth rates shows that reported growth was below growth at constant exchange rates.
The company scheduled publication of its third-quarter report for October 27, 2026, at 08:00 Central European Time. It invited investors, analysts and the media to a call the same day at 15:00 Central European Time. The report will provide the next reading of the company's performance during the year, while the outlook announced in the second-quarter results included revenue growth and adjusted EBITA margin within the specified ranges. The available facts did not include third-quarter results or a subsequent revision to that outlook. The guidance cited here therefore remains the forecast the company announced in its second-quarter report.
