Janus Henderson has launched a tokenized fund called JQQQ that tracks the Nasdaq-100, adding licensed exposure to the index to investment products based on blockchain technology. Crypto Briefing reported that the fund is the first licensed tokenized fund to track the index and trades under the ticker JQQQ. The product uses Centrifuge’s tokenization technology and operates on the Stellar network, according to the report and a Centrifuge announcement. The initial offering is limited to eligible professional investors outside the United States, with a minimum investment of $100,000. Centrifuge said the fund is available to eligible investors in jurisdictions where it may legally be marketed and is not available to U.S. persons.

The scope of this launch differs from a public offering to retail investors: geographic and professional eligibility requirements, along with the minimum investment, place the product in a defined investor category. Centrifuge describes the fund as a segregated portfolio of Anemoy Capital SPC, registered in the British Virgin Islands. Anemoy Asset Management manages the investment, while Janus Henderson Investors US serves as sub-adviser, according to Centrifuge’s announcement. The “first” designation applies specifically to a licensed tokenized fund tracking the Nasdaq-100; it does not mean the first tokenized fund linked to a major stock index. S&P Dow Jones Indices announced on July 1, 2025, a collaboration with Centrifuge to license the S&P 500 for an on-chain fund, naming Janus Henderson as sub-adviser.

The Nasdaq-100 tracks the 100 largest non-financial companies listed on the Nasdaq stock market, according to Crypto Briefing, linking the fund to a basket of companies listed in the U.S. market. Sean Wasserman, Nasdaq’s head of index product management, said the index “has remained a foundation for a broad range of investment products,” adding that the company was excited to support Janus Henderson. He added that Nasdaq supports extending index-based investing to new structures. The move gives eligible investors a way to access the index’s performance through a tokenized fund share, while eligibility and jurisdictional conditions remain in place. Available materials do not provide details on how shares are traded or when they can be redeemed.

The launch of JQQQ comes amid a broader expansion of Janus Henderson’s on-chain platform. Nick Cherney, the company’s head of innovation, said the platform now includes more than $1 billion in institutional strategies across U.S. Treasuries, structured credit and public equities. Crypto Briefing described the company’s total assets as about $500 billion at the time of publication on October 27, 2026. On the infrastructure side, Centrifuge reported on October 23 that tokenized assets it supports had reached $3.5 billion across 13 chains. In August, it also announced the integration of an instant USDC liquidity facility with Janus Henderson’s JAAA and JTRSY funds and NYLIM’s HYB fund, saying the covered assets totaled $1.6 billion. Centrifuge said the facility speeds up redemptions for JAAA and JTRSY, which had a stated T+1 period, and for HYB, which had a T+3 to T+5 period, by providing eligible investors with instant access to USDC.

As index products expand into digital structures, Nasdaq said it broadened its index licensing opportunities in early 2026. Nasdaq also submitted a proposal in 2025 to trade securities in tokenized form, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission issued an order on the filing on March 18, 2026. These developments add regulatory context to the expansion of tokenized products, while the launch of JQQQ remains subject to the offering restrictions set by Centrifuge. Fund documents warn of additional risks associated with networks, smart contracts, digital wallets and external platforms, which could delay transfers or redemptions or cause losses. The documents also point to the possibility that the investment’s value may diverge from the index.
