Centrifuge Backs $3.5 Billion in Managed Tokenized Assets Across 13 Chains

Key Facts

1The infrastructure backed $3.5 billion in managed tokenized assets across 13 chains.
2Centrifuge issued 45 tokenized assets and settled 11,900 cross-chain transactions.
3The 11,900 settled transactions passed through a multi-provider verification mechanism.
4Centrifuge plans to release the new vault suite in Q4 2026.

Centrifuge said in an October 15, 2026 post that its infrastructure, which enables a single fund to be offered across multiple networks, backed $3.5 billion in managed tokenized assets across 13 chains. It added that it had issued 45 tokenized assets and settled 11,900 cross-chain transactions. These figures combine the value of assets supported by the infrastructure with product issuance activity and the settlement of transfers across networks. The company said all transactions settled by the date of the post had passed through a verification mechanism that relies on multiple independent messaging providers. Centrifuge frames the expansion of its infrastructure as making the same fund available on different networks while retaining centralized fund management.

The infrastructure relies on a central layer and connected chains: the Hub layer handles accounting, pricing and permission management, while Spoke chains handle the issuance, transfer and redemption of fund shares. This division enables fund operations across multiple networks while keeping its administrative functions in the Hub layer. On February 11, 2026, Centrifuge announced that the V3.1 upgrade was live, saying the update brought the previous release's capabilities into production. Those capabilities included a modular fund architecture, network abstraction and composability through the ERC-7540 and ERC-4626 standards. The company said V3.1 expanded network support from 6 to 10, and the announcement named Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Avalanche, BNB Chain, Optimism, HyperEVM, Plume and Monad, with a tenth network undisclosed at the time.

Centrifuge said a cross-network message is executed only after a predetermined number of independent data providers confirm the same payload. Each fund can configure its messaging providers and the number of confirmations required for each destination network, the company said. It said the mechanism has been in place since the infrastructure's first deployment and that all 11,900 cross-chain transactions it settled had passed through it. According to the company, this adds a verification step to the path for executing messages between networks. The design also includes an on-chain execution policy to check manager actions against the investment mandate, and a circuit breaker that halts the process if transfers exceed its limits during a specified period.

The company draws some context for the expansion from a survey it conducted between February and March 2026 of 150 operators in the tokenized-asset ecosystem. It said 86% of respondents considered expanding distribution more important than launching new products. Asked which integrations could drive asset adoption over the 12 to 18 months after the survey, 31% selected institutional distribution platforms. In addition, 79% of North American operators expected managed tokenized assets to exceed $150 billion by the end of 2027, compared with 54% of operators in Europe, including the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Centrifuge links these priorities to expanding product access to distribution channels, while those figures remain survey respondents' expectations.

In broader market context, an AFME report published on October 19, 2026, said the value of tokenized assets globally reached $39 billion in 2026, compared with $25.5 billion in 2025, an increase of 52%. The report said tokenized U.S. Treasury bills, including money market funds, rose from $9.1 billion in 2025 to $14.9 billion in 2026 year to date. Money market funds accounted for 64% of that category, according to the report. Issuance of distributed-ledger-technology-based fixed-income instruments also reached €8.1 billion in 2026 year to date, up 86% compared with the 2025 total. The report places the expansion of tokenized assets in a broader context that includes Treasury products and fixed-income instruments, alongside Centrifuge's multichain infrastructure.

Product developments announced by Centrifuge include the on-chain execution policy, a new vault suite, faster Ethereum finality and the Glamsterdam upgrade, which it said would enhance scalability. The new vault suite is entering an audit phase ahead of a planned release in Q4 2026. It will aggregate subscription and redemption requests coming from Spoke chains by request ID, then settle them with the central accounting system. Rather than sending a separate message for each request, it will batch the requests and settle them together, the company said. Centrifuge also said upcoming fast-finality improvements on Ethereum are expected to shorten connection times between L1 and L2 networks, which can currently stretch to tens of minutes. The AFME report forecast the issuance of the first native digital bond in the United Kingdom during Q1 2027.

Centrifuge also offers a Whitelabel platform at two levels: Core, a self-service layer that includes the protocol, software development kit and APIs; and Plus, a collaborative tier involving product, legal and operations teams. The company said Daylight was the first project to use its Whitelabel infrastructure for real-world assets. It added that the platform uses the same infrastructure as its managed institutional offerings, with partners including Janus Henderson, Apollo and S&P Dow Jones Indices. The company describes these offerings as part of its efforts to make tokenized-product-building tools available to technology teams and decentralized finance protocols. In its current documentation, Centrifuge says the protocol operates on 12 chains and has undergone 38 security reviews, while its October post listed the infrastructure on 13 chains; the two figures appeared in different published materials.
