SGS posted record sales of 1,982 million Swiss francs in the third quarter of 2026, up 14.6% and above analysts’ estimates of 1,947 million francs, according to Investing.com. Organic growth was 5.7%, compared with consensus of 5.6%, the same source said. Chief Executive Geraldine Picaud said the company achieved its “highest quarterly sales increase ever” during the quarter. She said the result was supported by strong organic growth and the continued contribution of acquisitions. The figures provide a reading of sales performance, while the company reaffirmed its 2026 outlook unchanged.

SGS broke down sales growth into organic growth of 5.7%, a scope effect of 6.9% and a positive currency effect of 2.0%. The total increase of 14.6% therefore comprised three components, with the scope effect the largest. The breakdown indicates that organic growth was narrower than the overall increase recorded, while acquisitions and currencies added to the figure reported in francs. Actual organic growth exceeded analysts’ estimate of 5.6% by a narrow margin. The comparison with estimates did not provide details of the company’s performance on its other financial measures.

Revenue at Digital Trust, the cybersecurity and digital assurance unit, rose 37% in the third quarter, Reuters reported, citing the company. SGS also said its DIGITAL TRUST and IMPACT NOW activities recorded double-digit growth, without publishing a separate rate for either in its trading update. The increase at Digital Trust provides a quantified detail on one of the growth areas highlighted by the company, while growth at IMPACT NOW remained broadly described. Picaud said in the first-half results that growth accelerated in the second quarter, led by the strategic pillars of Digital Trust and sustainability. The third-quarter result places the period in the context of the company’s continued emphasis on these areas as growth drivers.

On expansion, SGS completed the acquisition of a majority stake in U.S.-based Prescient Security, which specializes in information compliance and cybersecurity, on 2 October 2026. The company said Prescient has more than 350 employees and 5,000 clients worldwide. SGS is targeting at least 200 million Swiss francs in additional Digital Trust revenue by 2027 compared with 2023. The acquisition is part of deal activity that the company said continued to support sales. SGS did not specify Prescient’s share of third-quarter revenue in its sales update.

SGS sales in the first half of 2026 totaled 3,683 million Swiss francs, up 7.6% year on year, with organic growth of 5.6%. Organic growth in the third quarter was 5.7%, while total sales growth reached 14.6%. In the first half, the adjusted operating income margin rose 20 basis points to 15.1% of sales. Free cash flow also reached 260 million francs, up 25.0%. In the first quarter, the company reported sales of 1,747 million francs, up 3.9% year on year, with organic growth of 5.3%.

SGS reaffirmed its 2026 targets, including organic sales growth of between 5% and 7% and additional sales from acquisitions of between 5% and 7%. It also targets an adjusted operating income margin of at least 16% of sales and a cash conversion rate above 50%. The targets follow record sales of 6,945 million Swiss francs in 2025, with organic growth of 5.6%. In its first-quarter update, SGS said additional acquisitions announced during 2026 represented total annual sales of more than 65 million francs. The guidance keeps the contribution from acquisitions within the company’s framework for growth this year.

SGS scheduled its Capital Markets Day for 17 and 18 November 2026. It is due to publish full-year 2026 results on 11 February 2027, according to its financial calendar. The annual results announcement is the next scheduled disclosure of performance for the full year. The third-quarter update left annual guidance unchanged and reported sales for the period and their components. The annual results will follow the Capital Markets Day scheduled for November.
