Apple announced on October 20, 2026, a commitment of up to $100 million to source titanium from U.S. company Perryman over the next 3 years, as part of new and expanded supplier partnerships for its latest phone lineup. The company said in a statement that Perryman would melt, forge and roll titanium for the iPhone Duo in Houston, Pennsylvania. The supply includes titanium with recycled content of "at least 80%," according to the statement. Apple had said when unveiling the phone that its frame was made of Grade 5 titanium. Apple's chief operating officer, Sabih Khan, said the supplier partnerships "support American jobs."

Alongside the titanium agreement, Apple expanded its partnership with Qnity Electronics to produce films used in the iPhone 18 Pro's camera system, according to Reuters. The films are used in the variable-aperture camera system in the company's latest phone lineup. Qnity joined the American Manufacturing Program in March, according to Apple's statement. U.S. companies produce about 100 components for the two phones through suppliers across more than a dozen states, according to Reuters. Across its broader supply network, Apple says it works with suppliers in all 50 U.S. states. The company also says it supports more than 450,000 U.S. jobs.

The supplier partnerships fall under the American Manufacturing Program, which forms part of Apple's $600 billion commitment over 4 years, according to Reuters. When launching the program, Apple said about two-thirds of its U.S.-made components were exported to customers outside the country. The company's manufacturing agreements also include a multiyear deal with Broadcom that Apple expects to exceed $30 billion in value. Apple said the agreement would lead to the production of more than 15 billion U.S.-made chips. In Arizona, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.'s plant will produce more than 100 million chips for Apple during 2026, according to Reuters.

The broader domestic manufacturing pledge was associated with a positive reaction in Apple's shares when it was announced the previous year. According to Reuters, the stock jumped 5.1% in the August 6, 2025, session on news of the commitment. The manufacturing plan also includes producing cover glass for Apple devices at Corning's facility in Kentucky. Apple aims for the facility to produce all cover glass for iPhones and Apple Watches sold globally by the end of 2026, according to its statement. As part of its broader environmental plan, the company says it aims to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire footprint by 2030.

The iPhone Duo becomes available to customers on Friday, October 23, according to Apple's launch announcement. Launch markets include the United Arab Emirates, while the device starts at $1,999 in the United States. Its availability follows the announcement of titanium and camera component supply partnerships for Apple's latest phone lineup. In the next scheduled disclosure by one of the suppliers covered by the announcement, Qnity Electronics plans to release its third-quarter 2026 results on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The company said in its earnings date announcement that the release would come before the market opens.
