UAE and Thailand Conclude Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement Negotiations
Key Facts
The UAE and Thailand have successfully concluded negotiations for a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to boost trade and investment. The National reported that the agreement is designed to remove trade barriers and increase bilateral investment flows, opening new avenues for companies and investors to access high-growth markets.
The deal is part of the UAE's broader strategy to expand its global trade network, following a period where bilateral non-oil trade jumped by more than 75% in the first half of 2026 to reach $10.2 billion. The CEPA is expected to strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors including advanced manufacturing, logistics, food security, renewable energy, and precious metals.
