Six out of eight major trading venues no longer list Monero (XMR) for customers in Germany. According to reports from cryptoticker.io, the delistings are driven by Article 76(3) of the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, which restricts crypto-assets with inbuilt anonymization functions that obscure transaction history.

The regulatory shift is linked to tougher anti-money laundering (AML) limits effective July 10, 2027. Exchanges including Coinbase, Bitpanda, and OKX have removed XMR trading pairs, as the current framework requires service providers to identify holders of crypto-assets, a requirement that conflicts with the core privacy features of the Monero network.
