GSR Launches $100M Onchain Vault Unit to Back Digital Credit
Key Facts
GSR, a crypto trading and market-making firm, has launched a new business unit focused on onchain credit vaults, backed by a $100 million capital commitment. CoinDesk reported that the firm is committing $100 million of its own capital into stablecoin and tokenized gold vaults. The move aims to capture institutional demand for onchain finance as traditional financial assets increasingly move toward tokenization.
The initiative comes as digital vaults become a central component of onchain finance, allowing investors to deposit assets into smart contracts while managers deploy capital across lending markets. GSR plans to use its commitment as anchor liquidity for the new unit's products, which will initially be powered by the Aave lending protocol and developed in partnership with Paxos Labs for gold-based offerings.
