Startale Launches Japan's First Digital Corporate Bond Settled in JPYSC Stablecoin
Key Facts
Startale Japan launched the country's first digital corporate bond settled using the JPYSC yen-denominated stablecoin. DailyCoin reported that the bond utilizes the stablecoin for both scheduled interest payments and final principal redemption, marking the first integration of regulated stablecoins into traditional corporate financing structures within the Japanese market.
The issuance is supported by a collaboration between Startale and the SBI Group, with SBI Shinsei Trust Bank serving as the issuer of JPYSC and managing the underlying trust assets. JPYSC is classified as a Type 3 Electronic Payment Instrument under Japan’s Payment Services Act and is designed to track the Japanese yen on a 1:1 basis, providing a regulated foundation for its use in formal financial applications.
