The Litecoin Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with Greywick Digital to develop the cLTC tokenized asset for the Canton Network. Crypto Briefing reported that the project aims to bring Litecoin to the institutional-grade network, with a target mainnet launch slated for late 2026.

The initiative utilizes the CIP-56 token standard, where native LTC is locked in reserve to issue cLTC tokens on the Canton Network, which currently hosts major institutions including Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas. Greywick Digital will manage issuance and independent attestation to ensure reserve transparency, marking a strategic move to increase Litecoin utility within institutional finance frameworks.
