Avalanche Activates Helicon Upgrade to Speed Up Block Verification 100x

Avalanche has activated the Helicon upgrade, aimed at significantly enhancing network efficiency and flexibility. Crypto Briefing reported that the new upgrade claims to speed up block verification by up to 100 times compared to previous levels, achieved by bundling six community proposals into a single release.

The upgrade introduces Continuous Execution, which decouples block consensus from transaction execution, effectively doubling the per-block capacity on the C-Chain. Additionally, the minimum staking duration for validators has been reduced from 14 days to just 48 hours, while requiring a 90% uptime threshold to qualify for rewards.
