The Zano network executed a major reset that eliminated approximately 30 days of blockchain data. Blockonomi reported that the decision followed the discovery of a security vulnerability in the Gateway Addresses system which permitted the creation of unauthorized ZANO and fUSD tokens, undermining the network's fixed supply principle.

The exploit led trading platform MEXC to temporarily disable deposit and withdrawal functions for ZANO and FUSD tokens to process the migration. Quinten van Welzen, Zano’s head of marketing, stated that reimbursement funds will be sourced from the development treasury and team-controlled assets, confirming that no additional tokens will be minted to address losses. No target date has been set for reactivating the Gateway Addresses feature.
