Aptos Foundation and HashKey MENA Launch MEA Stablecoin Corridor
Key Facts
The Aptos Foundation partnered with Daya and HashKey MENA to establish a regulated stablecoin corridor linking the Middle East and Africa. Crypto Briefing reported that the collaboration aims to build B2B settlement infrastructure to lower cross-border payment costs, citing World Bank data showing average remittance fees to Sub-Saharan Africa at 7.9% for $200 transfers.
The initiative leverages HashKey MENA’s VARA license in Dubai to provide regulated fiat-to-stablecoin ramps, while Daya provides local currency infrastructure for African markets. Stablecoin activity on the Aptos network grew significantly to over $1.9 billion in the period leading up to the announcement, rising from approximately $649 million earlier in 2025.
