Anglo Asian Mining Hits Record Copper Output as H1 Profits Surge

Key Facts

1Revenue for the first half rose to $141.2 million from $40.9 million a year earlier.
2Profit before tax increased to $68.5 million driven by full contributions from Gilar and Demirli mines.

Amid a strategic shift in global metal production, Anglo Asian Mining has reported a record-breaking financial performance for the first half of 2026. According to reports, the company's revenue surged to $141.2 million, a significant leap from the $40.9 million recorded in the previous year. Profit before tax also saw a substantial increase to $68.5 million, driven by a sharp rise in production volumes and operational scaling across its primary assets.

The record performance was primarily fueled by full operational contributions from the Gilar and Demirli mines, with copper production reaching 8,840 tonnes compared to 1,188 tonnes in H1 2025. Per analyst data, operating activities generated $78.5 million in net cash, allowing the firm to end June with a net cash position of $57.7 million. While gold guidance was revised downward due to recovery rates at Gilar, the company maintained its full-year copper guidance of 20,000 to 25,000 tonnes.

Investors are now looking toward the fourth quarter of 2026, when the Demirli mine is expected to reach steady-state production. Market sentiment may also be influenced by broader industrial trends, such as China's Industrial Production which grew by 5.2% as of September 15, 2026. With price data for AAZ currently unavailable, the focus remains on the company's ability to manage its reduced copper AISC guidance of $6,000–$7,000 per tonne.
