In a move reflecting the accelerating institutional adoption of emerging digital assets, the cryptocurrency Hyperliquid (HYPE) has officially joined the regulated Nasdaq CME Crypto Index. According to reports, this inclusion occurred during a scheduled quarterly rebalancing, placing HYPE alongside established assets such as Bitcoin and XRP within a benchmark framework designed for institutional exposure.

This shift redistributes the index's weightings, with market data showing HYPE debuting with a 3.36% weight, surpassing the shares of other participants like Cardano, Chainlink, and Bitcoin Cash. Meanwhile, XRP maintained its status as the third-largest asset in the index with a 5.21% share, while Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to hold the dominant positions at 74.36% and 11.88% respectively.

Operationally, the inclusion underscores Hyperliquid's compliance with strict exchange requirements regarding market capitalization, liquidity, and custody standards. While real-time price data for HYPE is currently unavailable, traders are monitoring the impact on fund inflows, particularly as broader market sentiment remains influenced by US economic data, such as the PCE Price Index which showed a 3.7% annual increase as of August 26, 2026.
