NeoVolta and SK On Sign Strategic U.S. Battery Supply and Manufacturing Deal
Key Facts
In a move reflecting the growing trend toward localizing clean energy supply chains in the United States, NeoVolta Power has entered into a strategic supply agreement with SK On. According to reports, the five-year deal aims to secure 9 GWh of U.S.-manufactured lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells. This partnership is designed to ensure a stable supply of cells for NeoVolta’s energy storage products.
The collaboration includes additional arrangements that bring the total targeted cooperation to 18 GWh, with SK On set to purchase energy storage packs manufactured by NeoVolta. The execution of this collaboration is expected to run from 2027 through 2031, bolstering NeoVolta's domestic manufacturing capabilities. These developments occur as market data shows increasing interest in Battery Energy Storage Solutions (BESS) utilizing domestic content.
Looking ahead, investors are watching for the start of actual production in 2027 as a primary catalyst for long-term revenue growth. As price data for NEOV was unavailable at the close of August 31, 2026, focus remains on the company's ability to expand its production lines. The upcoming economic calendar includes consumer confidence data from South Korea, the home of SK On, which may provide insights into the general business climate for international partners.
