The GDP Price Index measures the quarterly change in the prices of all goods and services produced within an economy. Unlike the Consumer Price Index (CPI), which focuses on a fixed basket of consumer goods, this index reflects price changes across all components of GDP, including exports and government spending. It is a comprehensive indicator of inflationary pressures at the national level.
It is calculated as the ratio of nominal GDP to real GDP (the GDP deflator), expressed as a percentage change from the previous quarter.
