About This Indicator

Description

The 52-Week Bill Auction represents the yield on one-year Treasury bills sold by the government. It is a key indicator of short-term interest rate expectations and investor appetite for government debt. The yield reflects the market's view on inflation and monetary policy over a one-year horizon.

Methodology

The yield is determined through a Dutch auction process where competitive and non-competitive bids are submitted. The highest yield accepted to sell the full amount of the offering becomes the 'high yield' for all participants.
