About This Indicator

Description

The 17-Week Bill Auction is a short-term debt issuance by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. These bills are zero-coupon securities sold at a discount to their face value, providing a safe investment vehicle for short-term cash management. The yield reflects the market's outlook on the Federal Reserve's monetary policy path over the next four months.

Methodology

The auction uses a single-price format where all successful bidders receive the same high yield. Bids are accepted in increments of $100, and the Treasury determines the total amount to be issued based on federal funding needs.
