The Primary Consumer Sentiment Index (PCSI) is a comprehensive measure of consumer attitudes regarding the current and future state of the local economy. It reflects consumers' views on their personal financial situation, their confidence in making large purchases, and their outlook on the job market. This index is a vital tool for predicting future consumer spending patterns, which drive a large portion of economic activity.
Based on a monthly survey of approximately 500-1,000 adults per country conducted by Ipsos. The index is composed of four sub-indices: Confidence, Expectations, Investment, and Jobs.
