The Irish Exchequer Returns provide a monthly update on the fiscal health of the Republic of Ireland by detailing government tax receipts and expenditures. This report compares actual performance against the government's annual budgetary targets. It is a key metric for analysts to assess the national deficit or surplus and the overall sustainability of public finances.
The data is compiled by the Department of Finance based on cash accounting, tracking the flow of funds into and out of the Central Fund during the reporting period.
