The Goods Trade Balance is the headline UK total goods trade balance, or monthly goods exports minus goods imports. It is published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in the monthly trade bulletin and covers Great Britain plus Northern Ireland. Values are seasonally adjusted for calendar effects, on a Balance of Payments (BoP) ownership basis, in current prices, excluding precious metals unless stated. It differs from HMRC statistics, which track physical movement without seasonal adjustment with metals included, and from services trade reported only as early estimates.
