Claimant Count Change measures the monthly change in the number of people claiming unemployment-related benefits. It is considered a more timely indicator of labor market conditions than the standard unemployment rate. A decrease in claimants suggests an improving job market and economic expansion.
Based on administrative records of individuals claiming Universal Credit or Jobseeker's Allowance who are required to seek work.
