About This Indicator

Description

The Unemployment Change indicator measures the monthly difference in the number of unemployed individuals in Germany. As the largest economy in Europe, Germany's labor market data is a primary driver of Euro volatility and an essential gauge of regional economic health. A decrease in the number of unemployed people suggests economic expansion and increased consumer spending power, whereas an increase signals economic contraction or stagnation.

Methodology

The data is collected by the Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) and represents the change in the number of people registered as unemployed, seasonally adjusted.
