This indicator measures the year-over-year change in consumer prices within the state of Brandenburg, Germany. It is used by analysts to gauge the persistence of inflation trends in the eastern German region. Along with other regional states, it contributes to the preliminary estimate of the Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Germany.
The calculation compares the price index of the current month to the price index of the same month in the previous year to determine the annual inflation rate.
