The KOF Economic Barometer is a composite leading indicator for the Swiss economy, designed to predict the direction of GDP growth in the coming six months. It aggregates a wide range of sub-indicators from sectors such as manufacturing, construction, and financial services. It is one of the most important early-warning systems for the Swiss business cycle.
The index is a composite of 219 individual indicators, statistically weighted to reflect their historical correlation with the Swiss economic cycle and GDP growth.
