The General Price Index - Internal Availability (IGP-DI) is a comprehensive measure of inflation in Brazil, tracked by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). It monitors price changes across different stages of the productive chain, including wholesale, consumer, and construction costs. Because it captures price movements early in the production cycle, it often serves as a leading indicator for broader consumer inflation trends.
The index is a weighted average of three other indices: the Producer Price Index (IPA) at 60%, the Consumer Price Index (IPC) at 30%, and the National Construction Cost Index (INCC) at 10%.
