G7 announces 100 million barrel release with March pledge still incomplete: are these new barrels?

Group of Seven (G7) leaders announced the release of 100 million barrels from emergency stocks over four months, prioritising diesel in the first 20 days. The statement does not say this is additional to the March pledge, of which roughly 75 to 100 million barrels remain undelivered. We read both decision texts, measured the volume against the diesel shortfall of 1.6 million barrels per day, and used our data to assess crude and diesel price moves after each previous coordinated decision.
