On June 24, Anthropic accused Chinese tech giant Alibaba of carrying out the largest known distillation attack on its AI models to date. Anthropic sent a letter to U.S. officials claiming Alibaba attempted to illicitly extract capabilities from its Claude AI model. On July 1, the United States lifted export restrictions on Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models.
