American Express has announced a proposed $700 million cash acquisition of the European restaurant platform TheFork from Tripadvisor. The deal is set to expand the company's dining network to approximately 75,000 bookable venues across Europe. Separately, the Australian Privacy Commissioner has ordered American Express to resolve security vulnerabilities in five of its data systems following concerns over insider threats.
