On April 6, Insulet Corporation announced a recall of specific lots of Omnipod 5 Pods in the U.S. due to a manufacturing defect causing internal insulin leakage. 18 serious adverse events have been reported, including hospitalizations and diabetic ketoacidosis, with no fatalities. The manufacturing defect results in under-delivery of insulin to users.
