On March 26, MARA Holdings announced private agreements to repurchase approximately $1.0 billion in aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes. The company sold 15,133 Bitcoin to facilitate the repurchase of notes due in 2030 and 2031, with the repurchases made at a discount, costing the company approximately $912.8 million for $1.0 billion worth of notes. On April 3, MARA laid off some staff as part of its new strategy, as the company is redefining its strategy amid ongoing pressure in the crypto market.
