Key Facts
On November 5, 2026, SenzaGen published its interim report for the first nine months and held a live presentation of the results the same day, after recording the first quarterly operating profit in its history. Third-quarter sales were SEK 16.3 million, compared with SEK 15.2 million in the year-earlier period, an increase of 7%. Operating profit rose to SEK 1.1 million, after the company posted an operating loss of SEK 1.0 million a year earlier. Earnings per share also turned positive at SEK 0.04, from a loss of SEK 0.02. Management said operating profit was positive both for the quarter and the first nine months, attributing this to the scalability of the business model and disciplined execution.
SenzaGen's gross margin improved to 77% in the third quarter, compared with 66% a year earlier, while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization were SEK 3.2 million, against SEK 0.9 million. Sales of the GARD platform grew 5% to SEK 11.0 million, compared with SEK 10.5 million in the third quarter of 2025. For the first nine months, sales rose 10% to SEK 46.5 million from SEK 42.4 million, while the operating loss narrowed to SEK 3.1 million from SEK 7.6 million. GARD sales during the period increased 10% to SEK 32.5 million, and the gross margin improved to 71% from 68%. Cash and cash equivalents totaled SEK 32.8 million on September 30, compared with SEK 29.3 million on the same date a year earlier.
After the period ended, SenzaGen announced an agreement to acquire U.K.-based Alcyomics, which reported revenue of about SEK 19.5 million and an earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization margin of about 24% in its latest financial year. SenzaGen subsidiary VitroScreen also received an order worth SEK 2.8 million to conduct efficacy tests for an existing customer. Ortoma, meanwhile, reported net sales of SEK 4,842,173 in the third quarter, compared with SEK 2,425,190 in the corresponding period of 2025. Chief Executive Officer Fredrik Strömberg and Chief Financial Officer Magnus Blekt presented the third-quarter report on a call organized by DNB Carnegie on November 5, with questions moderated by Clas Bålin. The call was announced on November 5, while SenzaGen published its report and presentation on the same day.
Ortoma's commercial outlook developed after the quarter ended, as the company received orders from its global commercial partner for 125 OTS Hip systems and related components, with a total value of about SEK 173 million for delivery in 2027. The company is developing a surgical system that enables surgeons to measure and plan the position of a joint implant in three dimensions before surgery, then guide its placement during the procedure. In a previous announcement in July, Ortoma said an order from its global partner would pave the way for continued marketing of the system in Europe, the United States and Japan. The company's share closed at SEK 9.90 on November 5, down 4.07% from the previous session, with 72,261 shares traded. The orders announced after the quarter represent progress in the commercialization process, while delivery remains scheduled for 2027.
In separate economic news unrelated to the companies' results, Sweden's central bank decided on November 4 to raise its policy rate by 0.25 percentage points to 2%, with the decision to take effect on November 11. The bank attributed the decision to improving economic activity and higher costs resulting from supply disruptions and a weaker krona during the year. It expects these factors to push inflation measured by the CPIF and underlying inflation above 2% in the following year. Minutes of the Executive Board meeting are due to be published on November 10, 2026. The next monetary policy report, including forecasts, is scheduled for publication on December 16, 2026. SenzaGen will publish its 2026 financial year report on February 18, 2027, while Ortoma's annual financial report is due on February 25, 2027.
