Stabilus cuts 2030 revenue target to €1.5 billion after meeting 2026 targets
Key Facts
Stabilus said on November 5, 2026, that it had met its updated revenue, profitability and free cash flow guidance for the fiscal year ended September 30, while cutting its medium-term targets for 2030. The company put preliminary fiscal 2026 revenue at €1,197.6 million, adjusted EBIT margin at 10.4% and adjusted free cash flow at €96.1 million. The results were in line with its updated guidance, although all three indicators declined from the previous year. For its future targets, Stabilus cut its 2030 revenue forecast to about €1.5 billion from about €2.0 billion. It also set a target range for adjusted EBIT margin of 12% to 15%, compared with its previous target of 15%.
Compared with fiscal 2025, preliminary revenue fell from €1,296.1 million to €1,197.6 million, while adjusted EBIT margin declined from 11.0% to 10.4%. Adjusted free cash flow fell to €96.1 million from €119.0 million. Fourth-quarter results showed a continued year-on-year decline, with revenue down about 4.4% to €302.1 million from €316.1 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2025. Adjusted EBIT margin for the quarter was 9.6%, compared with 10.8% a year earlier. In the second quarter of fiscal 2026, the company had reported revenue of €304.9 million, down 9.8% from €338.0 million in the year-earlier period, with an adjusted EBIT margin of 11.2%.
Stabilus attributed its lower 2030 targets to weaker revenue expectations for its automotive business in China and North America, and to reduced willingness to invest in automotive manufacturing equipment. The company linked its target review to the automotive sector and its production equipment in those two regions, rather than to a general decline in demand across global markets. In its results, the company forecast reported EBIT of about €63.7 million for fiscal 2026, down 24.4% from €84.3 million in fiscal 2025. It said this followed an impairment of about €67 million in the Americas. Stabilus said the impairment was non-cash and recorded as a special item, reducing fourth-quarter and fiscal 2026 EBIT but excluded from adjusted EBIT. It added that impairment testing had not been completed and the results had not yet undergone a final audit when the statement was issued.
Commenting on the company's performance and outlook, Chief Executive Michael Büchsner said the automotive industry faced particular challenges and that Stabilus's position outside the sector strengthened its resilience. He pointed to growth opportunities in robotics, automation and defense, saying: "With a focused portfolio and growth opportunities in robotics, automation and defense." The statement places all three areas among the opportunities cited by management, alongside the lower outlook tied to automotive activity and its manufacturing equipment. The management board proposed a dividend of €0.22 per share for fiscal 2026, compared with €0.35 for the previous year. The proposed dividend requires approval by the supervisory board and the annual general meeting scheduled for February 3, 2027.
Stabilus plans to publish its annual report with final fiscal 2026 figures on December 7, 2026, and hold its results conference for analysts and investors on the same day. The report will provide the final figures following the preliminary results announcement on November 5. Until its publication, the revenue, profitability and cash flow results for fiscal 2026 remain preliminary, according to the company statement. Stabilus also tied the annual general meeting on February 3, 2027, to a decision on the proposed shareholder distribution. The company's upcoming dates therefore include both disclosure of final results and consideration of the proposed distribution.
