Samsung Wallet to Enable USDC Transfers on Sui With No Network Fees in November

Key Facts

1USDC transfers over Sui will reach eligible U.S. users later in November 2026, with no launch day specified.
2The integration targets about 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States.
3The transfer cost at the Sui network level is $0.00, according to the foundation.
4USDC is the only asset supported at launch, while Samsung Wallet does not support the SUI token.

The Sui Foundation said in an update published on November 5 that USDC transfers over its network will reach eligible U.S. users on Samsung Wallet later this month. The foundation did not specify an exact launch date. The integration lets users send the stablecoin over Sui through the wallet without needing to hold SUI tokens to cover network fees. The foundation said the network-level transfer cost is $0.00. The development places Sui transfers within the stablecoin account launched by Samsung Wallet, while the timing for enabling this route remains unspecified.

The integration targets about 82 million Galaxy devices in the United States, according to the Sui Foundation’s October 8 announcement. The stated use includes holding and sending USDC through Samsung Wallet. But the assets supported at launch are limited to USDC alone, and the app does not support the SUI token itself. The addition is therefore focused on transferring the stablecoin on the Sui network and does not mean the network token can be traded or held in the wallet. Sui said removing the need to own SUI to cover gas fees lowers a technical requirement for senders.

Sui’s addition follows the start of the stablecoin account on Samsung Wallet via the Solana network on November 2, according to the Solana Foundation. Samsung’s broader announcement had set the final week of October as the start of the stablecoin account rollout, and said it would support transfers to compatible wallets and eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries. The date Sui announced for adding its transfers is later in November, with no specific day given. These dates show that the general account feature’s launch and the availability of a particular network are on different schedules. Sui announced the timing for its route in a November 5 update.

Eligibility to open a Samsung Wallet stablecoin account is limited to people aged 18 or older who reside in a U.S. jurisdiction where the service is available, according to Samsung’s FAQ. The service is currently unavailable to New York residents, and the account allows only one account per user. Users need an eligible Samsung device that supports the wallet and runs Android 13 or later, with fingerprint authentication enabled; registration and identity verification are also required. These conditions define access to the account to which Sui transfers will be added. The stated scope of use is therefore tied to account and device eligibility, as well as service availability where the user is located.

Bastion, a licensed money transmitter, provides the custodial wallet, digital-asset transfers and international transfers, according to Samsung. USDC balances are held at Coinbase in institutional custody under an arrangement managed by Bastion. Samsung says the account holds digital assets and is not a bank deposit, and that USDC balances and rewards are not covered by FDIC, NCUA or SIPC protections. Fees and timing for adding, withdrawing and sending funds also vary by method and destination, with applicable fees displayed before a transaction is confirmed. Samsung does not charge a fee to transfer USDC to external wallets, but recipients’ wallet providers or trading platforms may charge their own fees.

Sui says gas-free stablecoin transfers on its mainnet began in May 2026, and that USDC is among the supported assets. The foundation added that native USDC became available on the network in 2024, followed by the addition of Circle’s cross-chain transfer protocol integration. Since August 2025, Sui has processed more than $1 trillion in stablecoin transfer volume, according to the foundation’s data. The foundation said the integration aims to make transfers “seamless, fast and available around the clock.” This background provides context for expanding access to USDC through the wallet, while the announced integration feature remains limited to transfers on the network.
