IAMGOLD produces 186,900 ounces in Q3 and maintains 720,000 to 820,000-ounce production guidance
Key Facts
IAMGOLD reported attributable gold production of 186,900 ounces in the third quarter of 2026 and maintained its annual guidance at 720,000 to 820,000 ounces, saying it remains on track to meet its target. Chief Executive Officer Renaud Adams said Côté’s performance puts it in a position to post its strongest quarter of the year in the fourth quarter. Quarterly production was below the 189,500 ounces produced in the same period of 2025. But the company’s production from the start of the year through September 30 was 558,600 ounces, compared with 523,500 ounces in the same period last year. The figures place steady annual guidance alongside higher year-to-date production, as attention turns to Côté’s performance at year-end.
Third-quarter production comprised 94,000 ounces attributable to IAMGOLD from the Essakane mine, 64,400 ounces from Côté and 28,500 ounces from Westwood. Essakane was therefore the largest contributor to total quarterly production, followed by Côté. Gold sales totaled 199,900 ounces during the quarter, at an average realized price of 4,277 dollars per ounce. From the start of the year through September 30, the company sold 606,500 ounces at an average realized price of 4,514 dollars per ounce. Comparing production with sales shows the two measures diverged during the period, with quarterly sales exceeding attributable production.
Third-quarter revenue rose to 856.5 million dollars from 706.7 million dollars a year earlier, an increase of 149.8 million dollars, or 21%. The company attributed the increase to a 785-dollar-per-ounce rise in the realized gold price compared with the same period a year earlier, partly offset by lower sales volumes. Free cash flow from mine sites was 404.3 million dollars, versus 292.3 million dollars in the third quarter of 2025. The company also reported net earnings attributable to shareholders of 297.0 million dollars, up from 139.4 million dollars. Adjusted earnings were 237.0 million dollars, compared with 170.9 million dollars a year earlier, in a quarter that combined higher revenue and cash flows with a slight decline in production.
Unit costs moved in opposite directions: cash cost per ounce sold, excluding royalties, fell to 1,266 dollars from 1,338 dollars a year earlier. By contrast, all-in sustaining cost per ounce sold, excluding royalties, rose to 1,836 dollars from 1,706 dollars. At Côté, the plant processed 2.9 million tonnes of ore during the quarter, affected by an extended annual shutdown in August and the transition to owner-performed crushing. In September, average processing reached a record 37,100 tonnes per day, exceeding nameplate capacity of 36,000 tonnes per day. Adams said the mine made progress during the third quarter, while the company expected to announce an updated mine plan and mineral reserve estimate in the fourth quarter, followed by a technical report.
Available liquidity was 1,613.4 million dollars on September 30, comprising 766.6 million dollars in cash and cash equivalents and 845.8 million dollars available under the revolving credit facility. Net cash, excluding leases and letters of credit, was 317.6 million dollars. During the quarter, IAMGOLD repurchased 7.6 million shares for 134.7 million dollars. Since the buyback program began in December 2025, total repurchases reached 32.1 million shares for 592.6 million dollars through November 5, 2026. These figures show the liquidity balance and the scale of buybacks during the period, without the company attributing a change in liquidity compared with the previous quarter.
IAMGOLD’s management was scheduled to hold a conference call to discuss its third-quarter results on November 6, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Eastern time. The call is the next announced event to discuss the results, after the company reaffirmed its annual production guidance. The company is also scheduled to announce an updated Côté mine plan and mineral reserve estimate in the fourth quarter of 2026. Adams said the site’s performance positions it for its strongest quarter of the year during that period. The outlook follows the plant’s record average daily processing rate in September, despite the extended maintenance shutdown in August.
