Guardant Health Raises 2026 Revenue Outlook to $1.37 Billion After 36% Growth
Key Facts
Guardant Health reported revenue of $361.0 million for the third quarter of 2026 on November 5, up 36% from $265.2 million in the same period last year, and raised its full-year revenue outlook. Revenue topped FactSet’s estimate of $350.7 million, while the company posted an adjusted loss of $0.29 per share, compared with an estimated loss of $0.31 per share. The figures show that expansion in screening, alongside growth in oncology testing, led the increase in sales. At the same time, expenses and the accounting net loss rose, putting commercial growth up against the cost of expansion. The company said it expects annual revenue of between $1.36 billion and $1.37 billion, compared with its previous range of $1.34 billion to $1.36 billion.
Oncology revenue was $231.3 million, up 25% year over year, while the number of oncology tests rose to 117,000, a 58% increase. The difference between revenue and test growth rates reflects an expansion in activity during the quarter, with revenue growing less than the number of tests. Screening revenue was $67.6 million, up 180%, as Shield test volume increased to 83,000, a 246% gain. The figures make Shield the company’s fastest-growing business during the period, both in revenue and test volume. Revenue from biopharma and data rose 8% to $59.0 million, a slower pace than oncology and screening.
The company raised its 2026 revenue outlook to a range of $1.36 billion to $1.37 billion, saying that would represent growth of between 38% and 40% compared with 2025. Its previous range was $1.34 billion to $1.36 billion, meaning it raised both the low and high ends of the forecast. The annual outlook revision follows quarterly revenue that exceeded FactSet’s estimate and coincides with strong performance in screening. The company also raised its 2026 screening revenue forecast to $233 million–$238 million. It tied that range to its expectation of conducting 285,000–290,000 Shield tests during the year, making test volume a direct factor in the business’s revenue estimate.
Operating expenses rose to $368.9 million in the third quarter, from $270.6 million a year earlier. Guardant Health attributed the increase mainly to expanding its commercial infrastructure, marketing spending to support growth in screening and oncology, and higher stock-based compensation. The accounting net loss was $124.4 million, compared with $92.7 million in the same period of 2025. But the non-GAAP net loss narrowed to $38.8 million from $48.3 million a year earlier. The quarter’s results therefore combined revenue growth and a smaller adjusted loss with a wider accounting loss and higher operating costs.
Cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash totaled $1.1 billion on September 30, 2026. That balance represents the company’s available liquidity at quarter-end, as it continued to spend on commercial infrastructure and marketing. In May 2026, the American Cancer Society recommended including the Shield blood test in its updated colorectal cancer screening guidelines. This comes as the screening business expanded, with strong increases in revenue and test volume during the quarter. The company had announced on October 8 that it would release third-quarter results after the market close on November 5.
The company’s shares closed at $153.43 in the November 5 session, down 8.99% on the day, according to MarketScreener data. The stock had closed at $168.58 on November 4, according to EL7 data. The price move puts the growth results and higher outlook alongside the losses and expansion expenses reported by the company. The documented session data do not include details on the day’s high or low. The company’s full-year outlook remains tied to achieving its raised revenue range, including its screening revenue forecast and Shield test volume estimate.
