Bithumb to End FET Trading on Dec. 7, Keep Withdrawals Open Through Jan. 7
Key Facts
Bithumb said in a notice published on Nov. 5, 2026, at 16:00 that it would end support for trading FET after concluding that explanatory materials submitted by the foundation did not address the reasons the token was placed in the trading warning category. The exchange said it made the decision because those materials had not resolved the grounds for the warning, without describing them as an official statement. The notice gives holders two separate dates: trading ends first, while withdrawal support continues for a later period. This gives users a window to transfer assets after buying and selling on the platform stop. The announced decision is limited to Bithumb's support for the token, and the notice did not establish any price impact or change in support on other platforms.
Bithumb set Dec. 7, 2026, at 15:00 Korea time as the scheduled end of FET trading, including buy and sell orders. When support ends, the platform will also stop trading the token through its API. It will also cancel all unfilled buy and sell orders at once. The deadline therefore covers the end of regular trading and API trading, as well as cancellation of orders that have not been executed. Withdrawal support, however, will continue until Jan. 7, 2027, at 15:00 Korea time, according to the schedule announced by the exchange.
Bithumb advised customers planning to transfer their assets to a virtual asset service provider outside South Korea or to a personal wallet to register withdrawal addresses in advance. It said review of addresses on the whitelist takes time, making advance registration important before withdrawal support ends. The exchange warned that holding an asset whose support has ended could cause harm because of suspended technical support or a price decline on other platforms. It also said some forms of technical support could stop after withdrawals end, including support for the mainnet, hard forks, airdrops and swaps. Withdrawal restrictions may apply after that date, according to the notice.
The token's background dates to a merger plan announced by Fetch.ai in 2024 as part of an alliance with SingularityNET and Ocean Protocol, to combine the FET, AGIX and OCEAN tokens into a unified token called ASI. Fetch.ai said the planned conversion for FET holders would be at a ratio of 1:1 to ASI. In its update on the first phase, the foundation said FET trading would continue under the same ticker, while AGIX and OCEAN were being consolidated into FET. In an update published on June 21, 2024, it said the dates for the later phase of transferring tokens to ASI had not yet been confirmed. In its current notice, Bithumb cautioned that the asset's price could be highly volatile during the termination of support and said the announced schedule could change for internal reasons.
