Spain’s ACS group is considering buying the shares it does not own in Germany’s Hochtief, among strategic options that also include merging the two companies and a possible New York listing for Turner, according to a report by Bloomberg cited by Investing.com. Buying minority stakes remains one of the options under consideration; it was not presented as a completed deal or a final decision. The report places a possible restructuring of the group alongside other options, rather than limiting the matter to a full takeover of Hochtief. The motives for these options could not be independently verified. The options were discussed on the day Hochtief announced its results for the first nine months of 2026.

Hochtief’s operating results showed profit growth, with operating net profit reaching 752 million euros from January to September, up 40% year over year. The company reaffirmed its 2026 operating net profit guidance at a range of 1,025 million to 1,100 million euros. That gives the company’s operating performance weight in the timing of the strategic options discussion, while those options remain attributed to the press report. The results themselves did not establish that a potential restructuring had been decided or that it had an announced timeline. Hochtief scheduled publication of its nine-month interim report and an analyst and investor call for 5 November 2026.

Operating cash flow in the 12 months through the report date was 2.7 billion euros before factoring, up 686 million euros year over year, according to Hochtief. New orders in the first nine months also rose to 48.6 billion euros, up 35% after adjusting for foreign-exchange effects. The company said about 65% of those orders came from strategic growth sectors. These indicators reflect the scale of commercial activity and cash generation the company reported alongside its results. They do not resolve any of the options attributed to Bloomberg.

Hochtief said its strategic growth areas include artificial intelligence and digital technologies, energy and nuclear power, security and defense, and critical minerals. Chief Executive Juan Santamaría said the group was working to turn global infrastructure investment opportunities into profitable growth by bringing its capabilities together. He added that this was based on discipline in project selection, execution and cash conversion. The company links the expansion in orders to sectors where it sees rising demand. These remain operating priorities announced by Hochtief, separate from the ownership and restructuring options reported.

In a separate economic development, Germany’s Federal Statistical Office said real output in the producing sector rose 0.7% month over month in September 2026, after August’s increase was revised to 1.0%. On a quarterly basis, output in the third quarter was 0.4% below the second quarter, while it was up 0.4% compared with September 2025. The office said automotive production surged 17.1% in September after weak output in the previous two months, while pharmaceutical production rose 8.0%. By contrast, construction output fell 2.6% and mechanical engineering output declined 6.5%. These data relate to September and do not represent a new development on the day Hochtief announced its results.

On a narrower measure that excludes energy and construction, German industrial production rose 1.7% in September from August, the office said. Capital goods output increased 3.0%, consumer goods 0.8% and intermediate goods 0.1%. Hochtief shares closed at 390 price units in EL7 data for 5 November 2026. The data provided do not include a verified intraday high. Hochtief’s results and German economic indicators thus formed the coverage context, while ACS’s strategic options remained within the scope of the report attributed to Bloomberg.
