10x Genomics Narrows Loss to $0.15 per Share and Raises 2026 Revenue Outlook
Key Facts
10x Genomics said on November 5 that its diluted loss per share was $0.15 in the third quarter ended September 30, 2026, compared with a loss of $0.22 in the same period of 2025. Quarterly revenue rose to $150.7 million from $149.0 million, up 1% year over year. The narrower loss came alongside an improvement in gross margin and lower operating expenses, while revenue growth remained limited. CEO Serge Saxonov said the company was "encouraged by the results across its broader business, driven by continued strength in consumables."
Gross margin was 75% in the third quarter, compared with 67% in the same period a year earlier. The company attributed the increase mainly to lower inventory write-offs and a change in product mix. Operating expenses also fell 3% to $129.0 million from $132.5 million a year earlier. The company cited lower employee and laboratory equipment expenses, partly offset by higher litigation expenses. These items show improvement in some cost components alongside limited annual revenue growth.
The company raised its 2026 revenue outlook to a range of $625–635 million, compared with its previous forecast of $610–630 million. It said expected revenue growth ranges from 4% to 6% excluding non-recurring revenue related to patent litigation settlements. The update lifts its full-year estimate, while this release did not include an earnings-per-share outlook. In the second quarter of 2026, the company reported revenue of $151.0 million, compared with $172.9 million in the second quarter of 2025. It said revenue rose 3% year over year excluding non-recurring revenue from patent litigation settlements.
10x Genomics said commercial shipments of its Atera system have begun globally and that it launched the Sentira cloud analysis platform to help customers derive insights from complex biological datasets. Sentira uses NVIDIA accelerated computing to process spatial data and Anthropic's Claude tool to analyze single-cell data. Saxonov described the start of Atera shipments as the company's most notable development during the quarter. He added that strength in consumables supported results across the company's broader business. Cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities totaled $575.7 million as of September 30, 2026.
