Owens Corning reported results on November 4, 2026, for the third quarter ended September 30, forecasting fourth-quarter revenue of $2.0 billion to $2.2 billion. The company said adjusted EBITDA margin would be about 10% to 12% in the coming period. The outlook came amid continued pressure on existing-home sales, discretionary remodeling and new residential construction. Third-quarter net sales were $2.5 billion, down 7% from the year-earlier period. The figures put the next quarter’s outlook at the forefront of the results, as sales declined and the company forecast lower margins.

Adjusted diluted earnings per share were $2.44, compared with $3.67 in the third quarter of 2025. On a reported accounting basis, the company posted a diluted loss of $3.15 per share. Owens Corning said the adjusted figure excludes a non-cash, pretax impairment charge of $476 million related to its doors segment. Net loss from continuing operations attributable to the company was $248 million, compared with $495 million a year earlier. The net loss margin narrowed to 10% from 18% in the year-earlier period, while adjusted EBITDA fell to $489 million from $638 million and its margin declined to 20% from 24%.

Segment performance diverged, as higher insulation sales did not offset declines in roofing and doors. Roofing sales fell to $1,042 million from $1,240 million, and adjusted segment EBITDA declined to $299 million from $423 million. The segment’s margin also fell to 29% from 34%. By contrast, insulation sales rose to $1,001 million from $941 million, and segment earnings increased to $215 million from $212 million. But insulation margin fell to 21% from 23%, limiting the effect of sales growth on segment profitability.

The doors segment continued to post declines in sales and earnings, with sales at $483 million, compared with $545 million in the third quarter of 2025. Adjusted EBITDA fell to $25 million from $56 million. The segment’s margin dropped to 5% from 10%, alongside the impairment charge announced by the company. Chief Executive Brian Chambers said challenging conditions in the residential housing market were compounded by a second consecutive year of weak storm activity. He added that rapid increases in transportation and input material costs added to pressure on performance.

The company attributed its fourth-quarter outlook to higher input inflation and transportation costs, as well as seasonal factors and additional production downtime due to weak market volumes. It expects a limited pricing effect, with continued pressure on existing-home sales, discretionary remodeling and new residential construction. In roofing, it said the absence of significant storm activity for a second consecutive year and distributors’ inventory reductions would weigh on near-term demand. By contrast, it expects pockets of strength in North American nonresidential construction to continue. It also expects conditions to remain stable in its core European markets.

Operating cash flow was $813 million, while free cash flow reached $622 million in the third quarter. These figures reflect the company’s full performance, including discontinued operations. The company returned $337 million to shareholders, including the repurchase of 1.9 million shares for $275 million and cash dividends of $62 million. It also reduced debt by $299 million. These cash flows and capital actions offer another view of the period’s results alongside declining earnings and segment margins.

Owens Corning was scheduled to hold a call to discuss its third-quarter results on November 4, 2026, at 9 a.m. Eastern time. The company announced that the call would take place on the same day its results statement was released. The event was scheduled before the New York Stock Exchange opened, according to the investor relations announcement. The company’s results included its fourth-quarter outlook for revenue and adjusted margin. Its forecast for the coming period was revenue of $2.0 billion to $2.2 billion and a margin of 10% to 12%.
