Ouster reported total revenue of $59.325 million for the three months ended September 30, 2026, compared with $39.525 million in the year-earlier period and $54.626 million in the second quarter of 2026. The results included product revenue of $56 million, up 42% year over year and 6% from the previous quarter. The company said product revenue growth came primarily from customers in the industrial and robotics sectors. The applications it cited included warehouse automation, defense, construction, mapping and data collection. The results place total revenue and product revenue in two different contexts, as the former is not limited to product sales alone.

The company shipped more than 27,000 lidar sensors and cameras for revenue purposes during the quarter, with lidar accounting for about 27% of total units shipped. The CEO said Stereolabs cameras had a record quarter for shipments, attributing this to the company’s investments in production capacity to keep pace with growth in the robotics sector. These shipments followed the company’s report in the second quarter that it had shipped more than 17,000 sensors, with revenue of $55 million at the time. GAAP gross margin was also 49% in the second quarter, before changing in the latest period. These indicators show shipment activity expanding alongside product revenue growth, as the company continues to link demand to industrial and robotics customers.

GAAP gross margin was 43% in the third quarter, compared with 42% in the year-earlier period and 49% in the second quarter of 2026. The company said a one-time recovery lifted second-quarter margin by about 1,000 basis points. Non-GAAP gross margin was 47%, matching its level in the third quarter of the previous year and below the 53% recorded in the second quarter. Comparing the two margin measures provides a broader picture of profitability, alongside sales growth and rising shipments. The company also said the exceptional recovery was a factor affecting the reading of the previous quarter’s margin level.

Ouster posted a net loss of $14 million, an improvement of $8 million year over year and $4 million from the previous quarter. Adjusted EBITDA loss was $3 million, an improvement of $5 million year over year and $1 million quarter over quarter. Losses continued alongside a balance of $421 million in cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash and short-term investments as of September 30, 2026. These figures provide a picture of financial performance and liquidity at quarter-end, while the net loss remained despite improving from the two comparison periods. The loss measures cited in the release differ: one presents net loss and the other an adjusted earnings measure.

On products, the CEO said, "Hundreds of customers have already chosen Rev8 for their mission-critical applications." He added that demand had been strong during the initial production ramp and that the company expects deliveries to accelerate during 2027. Ouster had described the introduction of the Rev8 sensor in its second-quarter results as a "pivotal milestone" for the company. It also said at the time that the April launch of the ZED X Nano was the most successful launch in Stereolabs’ history. These comments place developments with Rev8 and Stereolabs cameras in the context of product expansion accompanying the third-quarter results, without changing the financial outlook announced for the coming period.

Ouster set a fourth-quarter 2026 revenue range of between $61 million and $64 million, after previously forecasting total third-quarter revenue of between $54.5 million and $57.5 million. Reported third-quarter total revenue came to $59.325 million. The company had announced that its results call and investor webcast would be held on November 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. Before the results announcement, Ouster shares closed at $28.22 in the November 2, 2026, session. The fourth-quarter range remains the nearest financial guidance for tracking the company’s performance after its quarterly results.
