Ibotta Redemption Revenue Rises 23% in Q3 as User Base Expands
Key Facts
Ibotta reported that redemption revenue rose 23% year over year to $88.5 million in the third quarter of 2026, saying an increase in available offers contributed to the growth. The number of consumers redeeming offers across its network rose to 23.6 million, compared with 18.2 million in the same quarter of 2025, an annual increase of 30%. The company attributed the increase mainly to growth among existing publishers. Chief Executive Brian Leach said revenue growth and adjusted earnings exceeded the company's expectations. He added that improved advertiser offer availability and consumer demand for value contributed to higher redemption revenue and an expanded redeemer base.
The company said total revenue rose 17% year over year during the quarter, though the statement did not provide a total dollar figure among the figures available here. Redemption revenue from third-party publishers rose 43% to $70.7 million, highlighting the role of distribution outside the company's direct channels in business growth. By contrast, revenue per redemption fell 13% to $0.76. The chief financial officer said on the earnings call that the decline in this metric was tied to offer mix and strategic pricing actions. The call transcript also pointed to a shift in the mix toward lower-priced food and beverage offers, alongside strong growth in that category.
Adjusted profitability improved faster than revenue, with adjusted EBITDA rising 43% to $23.8 million. The metric's margin was 24.3%, compared with 20.0% in the third quarter of 2025. Leach said adjusted earnings growth, like revenue growth, exceeded the company's expectations. On a GAAP basis, the company posted a loss per share for the quarter, compared with earnings per share in the same period a year earlier. On liquidity, cash flow from operating activities was $22.0 million, and free cash flow was $16.8 million.
A comparison with the previous baseline shows a shift in the direction of revenue: Ibotta reported revenue of $83.3 million in the third quarter of 2025, down 16% year over year at the time. During the current quarter, the company repurchased 0.4 million shares for $14.4 million, at an average price of $36.39 per share. For the fourth quarter of 2026, it forecast revenue of $94 million to $98 million, equivalent to year-over-year growth of 8% at the midpoint. It also set a range of $15 million to $17 million for adjusted EBITDA. These forecasts keep revenue growth and adjusted profitability at the center of upcoming results, following faster annual growth in the third quarter.
