The AUD/USD pair rose 0.63% to trade around 0.7008 on Wednesday. FXStreet News reported that Democrats securing majorities in both chambers of Congress in the US midterm elections triggered a broad-based decline in the US Dollar, allowing the Australian currency to rebound.

The fallout from the US election results overshadowed dovish signals from the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) regarding its monetary policy path. While the RBA raised interest rates to 4.85% on November 3, 2026, the downward pressure on the greenback remained the primary driver for the pair, even as US JOLTs job openings rose to 7.523 million on the same day.

Market participants are looking ahead to Australia's Balance of Trade data scheduled for release on November 5, 2026. In the US, focus remains on initial jobless claims and scheduled speeches from Federal Reserve officials Hammack and Barkin on the same date.
